Mary-Kate & Dorian

After our first meeting, we just knew that this event would have fantastic personality through and through. Without being directly stated, Mary-Kate and Dorian’s wedding would be a fantastic fusion of American Southern charm, wild Greek partying and St Barths unique allure. Mary-Kate and her family, originally from Lousiana, USA made it clear from the beginning that this very special multi-day affair should be a celebration of love, with a hefty dose of booze and fun. As a small, intimate group of 18 persons total, including the wonderful 4-month old baby Jack, this group was able to enjoy every moment together. Jack, by the way, was number one to rock up to the pool with baby shades and ready to relax, himself.

The celebration kicked off with a very welcoming and appropriate introduction to St Barths at the private Villa Vitti, located in Lurin. Guests transitioned from a travel day straight to the pool/pizza party to settle in just the right way. The extremely talented Thomas from Enjoy St Barths concocted the father of the bride, Chip’s favorite cocktail “Shark Bite”, which was enjoyed thoroughly by all. The Epic Presentations team arranged for several meters of delicious Isoletta pizza to be delivered for guests to swim, drink, and munch away as they acclimated to their first evening of partying.

The bride and groom chose not only to host their religious ceremony on island, but also to hold their legal ceremony at the Collectivité, which is quite a unique and beautiful ceremony for those who have not experienced before. Scheduled for 11am the following the morning and officiated by the Vice President of St Barths, Nils Dufau. Guests and family members gathered outside of the Collectivité and walked together to the ceremony room, where all took their seats. In a bilingual, French and English traditional French ceremony, Mary-Kate and Dorian & their witnesses signed the Livret de Famille, followed by Mimosas and photographs by the harbor front. All photographed events were captured by photographer Bruno Dubreuil, selected by the International Society of the Best Professional Wedding Photographers in the World.

Guests were then transported to the St Bartholomews Anglican Church to rehearse the next day’s religious ceremony. In order to keep the excitement of the ceremonies going, all attendees were then driven to the fun and wild Nikki Beach for lunch and then a quick power nap. That same evening Dorian’s parents, Blanca and Pano Lamis, hosted an intimate “toes in the sand” dinner on the beach at Eden Rock. The Lamis’ had arranged for one long table set with beautiful candles to carry the sweet mood leading into the following day’s ceremony. Executive Chef, Eric Desbordes prepared a delicious menu for guests to enjoy before the big day.

On the last and final day of celebrations, Mary-Kate and her family enjoyed a leisurely lunch at Do Brazil, before heading back up to Villa Vitti to have their hair and make-up done by St Barth’s Marco and Idalmi respectfully. It was very important for tradition-sake for the bride and groom not to see each other before their religious ceremony. Dressed in a beautiful Paloma Blanca dress & Paul Andrew shoes, Mary-Kate rode with her family to the Anglican Church. Their ceremony included added personal touches of local soloist, Laurent Clequin, singing Ave Maria during the signing of the register.

The newlyweds made their “get away” to close-by beach, Shell Beach in a beautifully decorated white Mini Moke for sunset photos. Guests quickly followed for a champagne reception whilst photos were taken.

All guests were then transported up the hillside to Villa Vitti, where the space was transformed into a delightfully romantic reception venue for dinner and dancing by the Epic Presentations team and on-island floral team, Bloomy. A delicious menu prepared by St Barth’s famous Maya’s team was served as rockstar bar team, Enjoy St Barths kept the cocktails and delicious wines flowing throughout the evening. In the spirit of added sweet personal touches, Mary-Kate and Dorian opted to enjoy a delicious fruit tart with homemade vanilla ice cream instead of the traditional wedding cake. After the gorgeous seated dinner, guests went into full party mode, with world renowned DJ Philippe Paris mastering the play list. Sprinkling in VERY animated Greek music as a nod to the groom’s family’s background. After heating up the dance floor, guests took advantage of the villa’s stunning infinity pool by all leaping in, and taking Epic Presentation’s own Natalie in with them! As the dancing and swimming came to an end, Mary-Kate and Dorian had their final “send off” with loved musical group, Phish complete with sparklers into newly married life.
